This rhetorical love song was the last song I wrote before leaving for Africa. The influences were "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", "Silent Night" and "Amazing Grace". I still don't know if there should be a question mark after the title.

To Be One or To Be Two

Quiet night lonely night, all the stars are shining bright
No good reason to go to bed, sit strumming, thinking of you instead
Outside it's getting cold. Inside I'm feeling old
On this quiet night lonely night, when all the stars are shining bright

Telephone rings, the loudest sound, feeling lost I now feel found
You've been sitting and you've been thinking 'bout the stars a twinkling twinkling
And the last few nights we spent snuggled warmly and content
You're far away in distance true but where I'm at is close to you

Goodnight love, it's good to hear you're starting off a better year
You're wholly yours and feeling strong I'm wholly mine but for how long
To be one or to be two, to be us or me and you
On this quiet night lonely night, when all the stars are shining bright.
